Dear Friends of The Divide,
Hello and happy spring! We have been very busy over the last few months. We now have a first cut of The Divide and are currently in the midst of the second round of editing. So far, only a few of us (Perry, Jana, and Russ primarily) have seen the film. We are thrilled with what is coming through on the screen: A beautiful story told by wonderful actors who have made it come to life in such an incredible way.
There is still much work to be done. One of the next steps is finding the right composer and the right music to accentuate the story and bring out the nuances of the world of a Northern California cattle ranch, circa 1976.
Once we have a final cut, complete with a musical score, our plan is to enter The Divide into film festivals. We are so excited to show it to as many people as possible.
As most of you probably know, The Divide tells the story of Sam Kincaid (Perry), an aging rancher who is exhibiting increasing signs of dementia. It is a sensitive tale, full of both nostalgia for the past and hope for the future. We don’t want to share too much, for fear of spoiling it before everyone has a chance to see it.
We will stay in touch with more updates as we continue to progress toward a completed film.
Stay tuned and spread the word to your friends to “like” The Divide on Facebook. We will be posting news and updates as we continue on this journey to get the movie out into the world.
