The Divide Earns Best Picture, Best Actor Honors from C&I Movie Awards

After weeks of voting, Cowboys & Indians magazine announced on February 22 that The Divide has been named Best Picture in the 2019 C&I Movie Awards. Perry King was voted Best Actor for his portrayal of rancher Sam Kincaid, a man suffering from the onset of dementia.

Winners were chosen through online balloting that ended on February 19. Nominees were chosen by the Cowboys & Indians magazine staff.

The Divide earned its honors in a field that included some of the best westerns and best performances of the past year. The Best Picture nominations included the Oscar-nominated film The Ballad of Buster Scruggs, written and directed by Joel and Ethan Coen, and the critically acclaimed film The Rider.

Among Perry King's fellow best actor nominees were Joaquin Phoenix and John C. Reilly for their performances in The Sisters Brothers.

Sara Arrington was nominated for Best Actress for her portrayal of Sam's daughter, Sarah Kincaid, in The Divide, while Bryan Kaplan was a Best Supporting Actor nominee for playing ranch hand Luke Higgins. Jessica Chastain (Woman Walks Ahead) and Sam Elliott (A Star is Born) were winners in those categories.
